A web site that uses Java to display and print pdf docs via Java is putting txt files about Java Errors on the desktop.  It is Lancaster Counties recorder of deeds website which is password protected so will not be able to give login info.  This was working without issue and then over this past week this issue cropped up.  To trouble shoot I uninstalled 64bit Java and reinstalled 32bit Java but the issue returned.  Everything appears to continue to function when this happens but it is annoying to the  end user.  I didn't find anything in the Windows event logs around the times of these files

See attached file for 3 of the recent ones

The problem most probably coomes because of the errors in the applet
There is a way to redirect error logs form java process in the java  command line
    this is this option:
    -XX:ErrorFile=./hs_err_pid<pid>.log

If you redirect it to some temp folder you'll not see it on the desktop

Well your errors come from Applet not application.

Still you can go to control panel -- java -- java tab - view button and you'll see filed for runtime parameters - try to put there this option - hopefully
the messages on the desktop should disappear

Alternatively if you have access to code of the applet or to its deleopers - they can debug and correct the applet code.
Do you have any idea, what could have changed last week that this iissue started popping up?

No idea, we are an end user that uses the website, no control over the app.  I will try your first post idea

-XX:ErrorFile=./hs_err_pid<pid>.log  I pasted it it in under user in the spot for parms. rebooted and will wait to hear back from her - she may not be in until Wednesday, so please be patient

Sure, no problem. I didn't try it myself, but it seems logical.

There were a couple of similar issues  on EE.
They were eventually resolved but in one case they fixed the code of applet, in another case I don't have clear picture what helped.

Still it may make sense to check these:

This was working and then all of a sudden the text files on the dekstop are back being created again.  I checked the settings and see the line is still in the Java control panel that I added before.  I added it back in again so it showed to entries but after applying it just showed one entry for the parameters that your recommending -0 any other ideas on this again?
