Does Microsoft Media Foundation support the playing of MPEG-2 files?

Cannot see MPEG2 on the following page: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd757927%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

Thanks in anticipation.

Not natively, MPEG-2 currently remains platform dependent.  Windows 7 includes a media source to read the MPEG transport stream and decode MPEG-2 but earlier versions don't so if you use a Media Foundation install on Windows 7 you'll be able to get MPEG-2 playback but not because of the MF files themselves.

Could you direct me to the media sources that Media Foundation uses to read and decode the MPEG transport streams, please?

Sorry, I don't think my last post was clear.  Media Foundation doesn't include a decoder, Windows 7 does.

Does this mean that I would need to point the Media Foundation code to the decoder in Windows 7 in order to play the MPEG-2 video?
