I have an end-user that suddenly cannot connect to his email using Outlook. He is running Outlook 2007. This has been working for him up until a couple of days ago. Now he gets a message that "Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable." - I have tried to create a new profile but get the same result. I have tried creating a profile for a different user on this same computer with the same result. I can ping the mail server by Name and IP Address. I have tried multiple fixes that I have found on the internet but nothing that has resolved the issue. I have also ran Microsoft Office Diagnostics but found no errors.

I have tried a couple of microsoft "FIX-IT" solutions- one for "no profile created" as I have used this successfully on a couple of computers recently but it had no effect with this issue

Problem is probably certificate related.  What version of Exchange do you have?

Im guessing if you setup this users Profile on another computer it works.

If it was workign before but now its not......Whats changed...

I would clear/delete the current profile
I would try removing the computer from the domain.
Just to be sure would possibly even give it a new SID
Then I wold re add the PC to the domain
Resetup the User Profile and try again

Make sure they have the latest SP installed

I found that pinging the mailserver by name returns an IPv6 address even though we use IPv4 on our network. This is only true for this location pinging this particular mailserver- by disabling IPv6 it works- when enabled it does not- go figure

just took a guess when i saw the ipv6 ping responce- once I disabled IPv6 and pinged by name I got a normal ping response and email connected fine
